Meet the team

Simon J. Rees ND is an LSM practitioner and one of the two founders of LSM. He is Director of The Living Systems Academy, which was founded to offer LSM courses internationally. He attained professional healthcare qualifications in Naturopathic Medicine, Homeopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and thousands of hours at other courses and seminars over the years. He also achieved a special commendation (Honours) during his teacher training course earlier in life, after which he worked as a teacher by profession for 3 years and was much in demand, before changing careers when he decided to study, practise and later teach alternative medicine.

Simon loves teaching, which people over the years have described as a gift and his natural flow. In particular, he excels at taking complex subjects and making them simple and accessible – by creating a “meaningful focus” (an LSM term first coined by Simon in 2017). This includes especially those topics that are new ones that have never been developed or explained before. Simon specializes in finding original ways to develop the subject matter, and related practical methods – and then translate it all in a pragmatic manner for students at all levels to learn easily and in a fun way. This is an approach and motivation that he shares with his teaching colleague Kevin.

The name Simon means “he who listens”, and it has been said that Simon teaches by listening. He is an empath, orientating his answers – and teaching methods – to first seeing things from the student’s point of view.

Kevin Eakins ND is an LSM practitioner and one of the two founders of LSM. He attained professional healthcare qualifications in Naturopathic Medicine and Homeopathy, as well as a post-graduate advanced diploma in homeopathy, and thousands of hours at other courses and seminars over the years.

Kevin is a brilliant and inspiring teacher, with a passion for making complex subjects clear, systematic, interesting and easily learned. He has often (but not always) taught with Simon over the years, with a shared humanitarian drive, bringing their infamous “dual act” to students (hint: Kevin and Simon are often emphasizing kidney support and give away books as prizes for students who win their quizzes, so if you answer their class quizzes with the word “Kidney” enough times you might win a free book before long!)

Kevin has also, along with Simon, always allied his teaching work with a lot of time spent outside of the classroom developing the teaching content itself through many concepts, materials, exercises and team games devised for students. Last, but not least, Kevin also brings great kindness and humour to his teaching work, having a natural flair for putting students at ease and guiding them through the learning process.

Dr. Siegel is an LSM practitioner, a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), a Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN), a Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (DACBN) and Medical Director of BioHealth Ohio, a Functional Medicine clinic in Columbus, Ohio, USA.

He has described the mission of his clinical work as follows: “My mission is to restore hope by finding the underlying causes to your health challenges, and provide customized, natural and drug-free care to lead you on your path to optimal wellness”.

Dr. Siegel joined The Living Systems Academy as an Instructor in 2013 and has remained a core member of our team ever since, thanks to his outstanding teaching ability, his brilliant, innovative mind, his great clinical experience over 3 decades, his broad knowledge and skills, his pioneering clinical work and amazing patient outcomes, his passion for LSM and his inspirational vision.

Dr. Siegel has always been in very high demand with his students, and it is easy to understand why. He is also known for his kind and considerate manner when helping students, where he has always gone above and beyond to ensure the best quality of learning.

Stewart Wright BDS is an LSM practitioner, a Biological Dentist (BDS), a Licensed Associate of Homeopathy (LFHom), a Craniosacral Therapy practitioner (CTS) and a Nutritional Therapist (CNN). He is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), the British Society for Occlusal Studies, the Faculty of Homeopathy and the British Society of Clinical and Dental Hypnosis.

Based in Scotland, he has 4 decades of experience working and teaching at the forefront of biological dentistry and health, with a focus on the toxicology of mercury, nutrition, functional medicine, the role of malocclusions and misalignments of the dental/cranial/sacral axis, and many other factors influencing health.

Stewart joined The Living Systems Academy as an instructor in 2015 and is an inspired, motivational and gifted teacher who brings great intelligence, clarity, experience and passion to everything he does. He is also a resourceful, pragmatic and skilled mentor to students.

Stewart’s wife Helen is a Holistic Physiotherapist, Craniosacral Therapy practitioner and Nutritional Therapist specialising in children and women’s health. Stewart and Helen together manage a health retreat and holistic teaching centre along with a biodynamic farm, set in an idyllic rural location.

Dr. Lawrence is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and the Kanata Naturopathic Doctor. Dr. Lawrence is a very experienced clinician who has been helping families in the Ottawa Valley area with their health concerns since 1999. Thanks to her intelligence, deep understanding and extraordinary range of skills and qualifications, she has been a mentor and inspiration to the Living Systems Medicine (LSM) founders and community since 2012. Among her many areas of expertise are included Functional Medicine, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Naturopathic Medicine, Acupuncture, Nutrition and LSM.

Anne Darcy RN ND BSc is a trained Nurse and has separately completed top-level professional healthcare qualifications in Australia in Naturopathic Medicine, Nutritional Therapy, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy and Acupuncture. She runs a clinic in Ireland, appears regularly on radio interviews and is also an experienced teacher of Naturopathic Medicine and Nutrition at various colleges worldwide including the College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dublin. Anne has been an exceptionally experienced, helpful and inspirational mentor to the Living Systems Medicine community and founders since 2015.

Bill McCollam BDS is a biological dentist at the forefront of his field, and is a member of the British Society for Mercury Free Dentistry, founded by legendary Jack Levenson BDS. The founders of Living Systems Medicine first made contact with Bill in 2003 and he has been an inspiration and guiding light to the LSM community ever since, speaking at conferences and providing a unique level of expertise on a broad range of complex dental topics. Bill made history in 1988 by transforming his dental practice into the first in all of Ireland to stop using mercury, after he realized that it was not ethical to place a highly toxic metal into the teeth. He has attended many cutting edge seminars and trainings in many aspects of dentistry and health, and throughout his long, distinguished career has always put the health of the patient first, and proven himself to be a man of the highest integrity, intelligence, kindness and skill.

Dr. Brannigan is the Health Care Director of Brannigan Health Center in Sacramento, California. He has practiced Functional Neurology/Medicine since 2013. He is also the Chiropractor for the CARES Community Clinic in downtown Sacramento, CA. Dr. Brannigan graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in 2004 and has been in clinical practice since 2006. He has also been successful in breaching the gap between the strained relationship of Chiropractors and Medical Doctors and has been a guest speaker at UC Davis School of Medicine – Chronic pain department. Dr. Brannigan is dedicated to making his patients’ healthcare experience one of restoration, not just a handful of pills and a push out the door.

Dr. Chong has been a licensed naturopathic physician, practicing in Portland, Oregon, since 2000. His primary focus is on risk assessment, prevention and drug-free treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease and diabetes, as well as general healthy aging, including dementia prevention. Dr. Chong has completed certificate training in cardio-metabolic medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, is an active member of the Society for Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication (SHAPE), serves as a clinical consultant for Cleveland Heart Lab, and is a contributing editor in cardiology for The Natural Medicine Journal. Dr. Chong also lectures around the country on various topics related to nutrition and cardiovascular disease, and has been interviewed many times about health and nutrition.

Dr. Moore is a PhD scientist who has been involved with water and light through most of his career. Dr. Moore’s field is experimental physics, where he specialized in the development and testing of prototype optical instrumentation for oceanographic environments. He is also a qualified homeopath. Dr. Moore has been an invaluable advisor to The Living Systems Academy, especially on topics relating to advanced physics.

In his recent book, “Nature’s Twist: Water and the Spirals of Life”, Dr. Moore presents the combination of water and the spiral motion of the vortex being not only fundamental to life and critical to many of its processes, but a gateway that allows biology to tap into a deeper, interconnected level of reality.

Dr. Shapka, past President of the International Academy for Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), is a biological dentist who has been a guiding light to many in the Living Systems Medicine (LSM) community and far beyond, ever since 2007 when he met the founders of LSM. Inspired by the scientific work of the IAOMT, Dr. Shapka sought to become the best biological dentist he could be. Later he became President of the IAOMT. He remains a member of their Executive Council, and is IAOMT Accredited, SMART certified and has an IAOMT Mastership.

The IAOMT is a top international organisation for scientific research and information about biological dentistry and toxicology which comes highly recommended as the first port of call for all dental-related questions and research.

Paul Doyon MAT is an academic researcher and teacher with a scholarly interest in the field of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and electrosmog. He is the founder of the modern-day concept of the EMF Refugee, a reference to electrohypersensitivity (EHS) sufferers and others in attempted flight from the electrosmog now blanketing our world. In his writings he has looked at many interesting scientific research questions such as the effects of EMFs on immune cells, the brain and the endocrine system, and their possible relationship to chronic fatigue syndrome, immune deficiency, impaired cognitive function and many other health problems. Paul also studied Building Biology at the Building Biology Institute, and is Head of the English Department at Boya International Academy.

Gilles Lamoureux M.Ed. is a provider of the Bioenergetic Isopathic method, which he describes as a practice that restores wellness by addressing the underlying physiological and mental causes of imbalance in the human body through isopathy and bioresonance testing. Gilles has gained years of clinical experience since opening his practice in 2014, and specialises in understanding and explaining the underlying mechanisms of health, disease and healing from the point of view of biofields and underlying causes.

Janet Wrathall ND has 17 years of Naturopathic Medicine clinical experience, running a clinic in Lancashire, UK. Over the years, Janet has attained professional healthcare qualifications in a broad range of disciplines, including Naturopathic Medicine, Herbal Medicine, Holistic Iridology, Field Control Therapy (FCT), Nutri-Energetics Systems (NES), Counselling, Nutrigenomics and a B.Ed. Degree in Food Science and Nutrition. She is a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP), the Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists International (GNI), the Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH), the General Naturopathic Council (GNC) and The Society for Homotoxicology & Anti-Homotoxic Therapy.

Renee North has always been interested in biology and how the body functions. Following this interest, she trained as a nurse and worked in the healthcare industry. Following health problems of her own which were not helped by either conventional or alternative therapies, she finally found help from a practitioner of resonance testing, which inspired her to study various forms of information medicine herself and become a practitioner. She set up a clinic in Wisconsin in 2014 which is still active today, and has a passion for both helping and educating people.

Vicki Usitalo RN has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) and went on to study various forms of functional medicine, running a clinic in Michigan. She specialises in the use of bioresonance testing and isopathy for the treatment of patients with a wide range of health problems.
